July 2005 Highlights - Updated 7/21

Nick Jr.

Nick Jr. starts this month off with a Blue’s Big Musical special airing on Friday, July 1 at 10:30AM (all times ET/PT). Independence Day, Monday, July 4th will be celebrated with a six-episode marathon of Blue’s Clues, one of the most popular and educational shows on preschool television. Blue’s Room specials will be in the series regular time slot at 9:30AM for the remainder of the week.

LazyTown premieres “Pixelspix.com” on Monday, July 11th at 10:30AM (repeating on Friday, July 15th). LazyTown will also join NOGGIN, the commercial-free, educational network for preschoolers, this summer beginning Monday, July 11th at 4:00PM (ET) and will air daily Monday - Sunday at 4:00PM (ET). [Please note that all times on NOGGIN are ET]. The Backyardigans premieres “Race to the Tower of Power” on Monday, July 18th at 11:00AM, repeating on Friday, July 22nd. And finally, a Dora the Explorer special “Fairytale Adventure” will air on Monday, July 25th at 9:00AM, and again on Friday, July 29 at 11:00AM.

Friday, July 1st 10:30AM SPECIAL
Blue’s Clues “Blue’s Big Musical” #999
Blue, Steve and all their friends want to plan a musical show in their backyard. In order to get their show underway, they must write an all new song with G-Clef (voiced by Ray Charles). While playing Blue’s Clue’s, preschoolers will join Blue and Steve on their exciting musical adventure.

Monday, July 4th BLUE’S CLUES MARATHON

9:00AM “The Legend of the Blue Puppy” #607
According to legend, Blue was born with a special key that unlocks her greatest gift. Blue searches for and finds this golden key. Upon its discovery, all the Blue’s Clues pals gather to help Blue find the magical lock. The key unlocks a music box. In a whirlwind of music, lights and color, viewers are swept into the music box. Inside, Blue is a puppet on her own live-action puppet set – Blue’s Room, a stylized playroom filled with new puppet characters and different play areas to explore. Most importantly, Blue can now talk directly to the viewers which she realizes is her greatest gift.

9:30AM “Love Day” #601
A mystery card floats into Joe's hands, and he and Blue must figure out who it's from. Later, Joe and Blue venture into the Book of Love and meet a Prince and Princess who need help telling their love story. Joe and Blue learn that it was Cinderella who sent Joe the Love Day card and she pays them a special visit.

10:00AM “Bluestock” #602
This episode is filled with some favorite Blue's Clues songs, and several animated celebrities join in on the backyard concert. Toni Braxton joins Tickety to sing the Planets Song, Macy Gray and Periwinkle sing The Dance Song, and a special reggae Mailtime with Mailbox and India Arie. Throughout the concert, viewers play Blue's Clues to figure out what song Blue is going to sing at the end of the concert.

10:30AM “Skidoo Adventure” #603
Joe and Blue create a giant craft project called Wacky Wild World. They skidoo in and their picture of home immediately blows away. In order to get home, Joe and Blue must find four magic letters.

11:00 AM “Wishes” #604
Joe and Blue are playing with a toy train when it takes off through the living room and lands at a mysterious door. Behind the door they meet Wish who informs them that it is their wish day and they can make any wish they like.

11:30 AM “The Fairy Tale Ball” #609
Joe and Blue receive an invitation to the Fairy Tale Ball where they will be joining fairy tale character favorites. Viewers must play Blue's Clues to figure out who Blue is most excited to see at the Ball. On the way to the Ball, Blue and Joe meet Little Red Riding Hood, the Three Little Pigs, Cinderella, and many more.

Tuesday, July 5th 9:30 AM SPECIAL
Blue’s Clues “Blue’s Room Snacktime Playdate” #610
Blue spins her Playdate Spinner and it lands on snacktime. Throughout the playdate, viewers help Blue piece together a puzzle that reveal a surprise snack party.

Wednesday, July 6th 9:30AM SPECIAL
Blue’s Room “Beyond Your Wildest Dreams” #102
In an imagination-filled episode, Blue and her friends pretend to be whatever they dream of and take viewers on several wild adventures. Blue dreams of being a fish under the sea and dreams up a whole new world. Throughout the playdate, and with the help of Dictionary, Blue learns the meaning and importance of the imagination.


Thursday, July 7th 9:30AM SPECIAL
Blue’s Room “It’s Hug Day” #104
Hug Day is Roary's favorite holiday. Blue and all her friends want to join in the celebration. To celebrate, they play a Hug Day freeze dance game of Boogie Woogie. Then they must act out an imaginary story to help Bobo find his mom so that he can give her a hug.

Friday, July 8th 9:30AM SPECIAL
Blue’s Room “Fred’s Birthday” #101
The entire playroom is buzzing with excitement and all of the playroom friends are ready to celebrate Fred’s birthday. With treasure hunt style riddles, Fred, Blue, and viewers are led throughout the playroom in search of birthday presents. Inside each present is another riddle which, in the end, leads to Fred's birthday surprise.

Monday, July 11th 10:30AM PREMIERE
LazyTown “Pixelspix.com” #117
Pixel builds a web page that includes everyone in LazyTown (hit an icon, and a little bit of digital footage comes to life). Robbie Rotten, who is the only one left out of the web page, is out to "crash" Pixel's internet. Instead, Robbie accidentally gets sucked into the computer. Pixel must zap Sportacus inside his computer and after a long chase, Robbie is finally kicked off the web.

Monday, July 18th 11:00AM PREMIERE
Backyardigans “Race to the Tower of Power” #112
The Backyardigans take an epic, musical adventure in the new special “Race to the Tower of Power.” The episode’s action is set to a salsa beat, with four original songs and real choreographed movements recreated in animation. Pablo and Tyrone are super-villains who want to rule the world, but Uniqua and Austin are superheroes out to stop them. Their adventure takes them to the forest, the frozen North and the high seas – all in a race to see who is the first to get to the Tower of Power.


Monday, July 25th 9:00AM SPECIAL
Dora the Explorer “Fairytale Adventures” #998
Dora and Boots are exploring in the forest when they discover the gate to Fairy-Tale Land. Upon entering the magical land, they discover that a mean witch lives there and when Boots eats a banana from the witch's fruit tree, he turns into Sleeping Boots. There's only one way to break the witch's spell and wake up Sleeping Boots. Boots must get a hug from a true princess. The seven dwarves suggest that Dora could become a true princess herself but she must complete several tasks before this is possible.
