Disney Channel Draws its Highest Total Day Friday Ratings in 6 Months with Kids 6-11 Demographic BURBANK, CA (April 11, 2005) - The premiere of the first animated movie in the award-winning Disney Channel Original Movie franchise, "Disney's Kim Possible Movie: So the Drama" -- from Walt Disney Television Animation -- on Friday, April 8 (8:00 p.m.), delivered blockbuster results and ranked as the #1 basic cable telecast of the day with: • Kids 6-11 (10.4 rating/2.0 million) • Tweens 9-14 (8.9 rating/1.8 million) • Girls 6-11 (13.9 rating/1.3 million) • Tween Girls 9-14 (11.4 rating/1.1 million) • Tween Boys 9-14 (6.5 rating/667,000) It was the #2 basic cable telecast of the day in Households (3.6 rating/3.1 million), second only to the Mets vs. Braves game on Turner South (4.2 rating/663,000 delivery) and Total Viewers/Persons 2+ (2.0 rating/4.5 million). The first animated Disney Channel Original Movie (DCOM) delivered the DCOM franchise's best ratings in Households and Kids 6-11 since October 8, 2004 when "Halloweentown High" premiered to what would become all basic cable's #1 original movie with Kids 6-11. Disney Channel also averaged its highest total day Friday ratings with Kids 6-11 since October 8, 2004. The movie is based on the hit series from creators/executive producers Bob Schooley and Mark McCorkle, "Disney's Kim Possible," which tied as the #1 animated series on Disney Channel in 2004. The series and movie also premiere today on Toon Disney and a "Disney's Kim Possible Movie: So the Drama" video/DVD with bonus material and alternate ending will release next week via Buena Vista Home Entertainment. Compared to last year's time period average, the ratings for "Disney's Kim Possible Movie: So the Drama" increased dramatically: • Up 178% in Total Viewers/Persons 2+ (4.4 million vs. 1.6 million) • Up 157% in Households (3.6 rating/3.1 million vs. 1.4 rating/1.2 million) • Up 285% with Kids 6-11 (10.4 rating/2.0 million vs. 2.7 rating/523,000) • Up 415% with Girls 6-11 (13.9 rating/1.3 million vs. 2.7 rating/247,000) • Up 154% with Boys 6-11 (7.1 rating/710,000 vs. 2.8 rating/276,000) • Up 271% with Tweens 9-14 (8.9 rating/1.8 million vs. 2.4 rating/470,000) • Up 307% with Girls 9-14 (11.4 rating/1.1 million vs. 2.8 rating/264,000) • Up 210% with Boys 9-14 (6.5 rating/667,000 vs. 2.1 rating/206,000) Against all broadcast and basic cable competition, the movie was #1 in its time period with Kids 6-11, Girls 6-11, Tweens 9-14, Girls 9-14 and Boys 9-14. The encore of "Disney's Kim Possible Movie: So the Drama" (9:20 p.m.) was the #2 basic cable telecast of the day with Kids 6-11 (7.7 rating/1.5 million), Tweens 9-14 (7.5 rating/1.5 million) and Girls 9-14 (9.4 rating/906,000), a tie with "That's So Raven." A weeklong online/on-air programming event, "Kim Possible Click It to Pick It," from April 4-8 (4:00-6:00 p.m.) delivered an average of 1.6 million Total Viewers across the week, up 10% from the year-ago time period benchmark. It was also up 15% in Households (1.5 rating/1.3 million), up 10% with Kids 6-11 (3.3 rating/640,000), up 37% with Tweens 9-14 (2.6 rating/525,000), up 33% with Girls 6-11 (4.0/368,000), up 48% with Girls 9-14 (3.1/301,000) and up 29% with Boys 9-14 (2.2/224,000). Disney Channel's "Kim Possible Click It to Pick It Event" was #1 in the time period among all basic cable with Girls 6-11 (4.0 rating/368,000) and Girls 9-14 (3.1 rating/301,000). It ranked #2 in the time period with Kids 6-11 (3.3 rating/640,000), Tweens 9-14 (2.6 rating/525,000), Boys 9-14 (2.2 rating/224,000), Households (1.5 rating/1.3 million) and Total Viewers/Persons 2+ (0.7/1.6 million).
