The Nanny Reunion, Airing October 11th

LIFETIME TELEVISION PRESENTS “THE NANNY REUNION: A NOSH TO REMEMBER” A TRIBUTE TO ONE OF TELEVISION’S MOST MEMORABLE COMEDIES

Fran Drescher and Friends Reunite for Special Night of Food, Fun and Laughter

LOS ANGELES – Following last summer’s enormously popular reunions for “The Golden Girls” and “Designing Women”—the two highest-rated specials in LIFETIME’s 20-year history—the network today announced that Fran Drescher, Charles Shaughnessy and the rest of “The Nanny” cast are reuniting for “The Nanny Reunion: A Nosh to Remember,” scheduled to air on Lifetime Monday, October 11 at 8PM (ET/PT).

The cast will reminisce about the series which centered around the comedic misadventures of Fran Fine, a middle-class Jewish girl from Queens who, by accident, becomes a nanny for the children of Maxwell Sheffield (Charles Shaughnessy), a successful British theatrical producer.
In addition to Drescher and Shaughnessy, the special welcomes back fellow cast members Nicholle Tom, Benjamin Salisbury, Madeline Zima, Renee Taylor, Anne Guilbert, Rachel Chagall and Lauren Lane and features clips, outtakes and home movies from the series, while enjoying a homecooked meal at Drescher’s house.

The Emmy Award-nominated sitcom, “The Nanny,” left viewers cheering when Fran Fine (Drescher) won her way into the heart of prim and proper Maxwell Sheffield, and he finally made the flashy girl from Flushing his bride. The popular sitcom ran on CBS from 1993-99, and currently airs on LIFETIME.
In making the announcement, Bill Brand, Senior Vice President, Reality Programming, said “It has been great fun spending time with Fran planning this special. Fran’s vision for this show is unlike any reunion show ever produced. She’s literally opening her home and welcoming the entire cast in for a big dinner party.” Said Drescher, “For six years we all had the greatest environment, and we all loved coming to work. I can’t wait to sit down with everyone and talk about the good old days. But since I’m cooking the meal, the big question is, what exactly will I serve them? Bagels and schmeer isn’t going to do the job.”

“This has been such a fun project,” said Gay Rosenthal, executive producer. “I think fans of the show will be thrilled to see all their favorite characters gather together again and get a real behind-the-scenes glimpse into the show. Fran and I last worked together on her Lifetime ‘Intimate Portrait,’ and it has been wonderful to work with her again.”
Viewers for Quality Television once called “The Nanny” the “90’s version of ‘I Love Lucy.’” The series won an Emmy Award in 1995 and a BMI TV Music Award in 1996. It also received numerous nominations including the Golden Globe Award, American Comedy Award, Golden Satellite Award, Image Award, TV Guide Award, Young Artist Award and Young Star Award.
“The Nanny Reunion: A Nosh to Remember” will be produced by Gay Rosenthal Productions and Uh-Oh Productions in association with LIFETIME Television and Sony Pictures Television. Executive producers are Gay Rosenthal, Fran Drescher and Paul Barrosse. Supervising producer is Nicholas Caprio. Natalie Aaron is co-producer, and Peter Jacobson directs.
