Disney Channel Heats Up July

DISNEY CHANNEL HEATS UP JULY WITH PREMIERE OF ORIGINAL MOVIE "READ IT AND WEEP," A SPECIAL PRESENTATION OF "HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL" INCLUDING BONUS FEATURES WITH THE CAST PLUS CROSS OVER EPISODES OF "THE SUITE LIFE OF ZACK AND CODY," "THAT'S SO RAVEN" AND "HANNAH MONTANA"

BURBANK, June 27, 2006 - In July, Disney Channel, which is delivering its highest ratings ever, will premiere a Disney Channel Original Movie "Read It and Weep" starring sisters Kay and Danielle Panabaker, and back for the first telecast in 12 weeks, a special presentation of the smash hit sensation "High School Musical" featuring new bonus footage with the cast, filmed at the Disney Channel Games, and an interactive element where kids can vote at www.DisneyChannel.com for their favorite team. Plus, Disney Channel has some fun with its three top-rated comedy series, crossing-over characters from one to the other in "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody," "That's So Raven" and "Hannah Montana."

For preschoolers, Playhouse Disney presents a new short form comedy program, "Ooh, Aah & You" featuring endearingly funny monkey brothers Ooh and Aah who live in a jungle playground and love to monkey around. Ooh and Aah don’t always see eye to eye, but they love each other and are always ready to play and have fun.

July highlights on Disney Channel and Playhouse Disney are:

SATURDAY, JULY 1 on Disney Channel
Disney Channel features new episodes of "American Dragon: Jake Long" and "The Emperor's New School."

On "American Dragon: Jake Long" (9:00 p.m., ET/PT) Jake and Spud stumble upon Rose while undercover at a secret Huntsian Training School. Then, on "The Emperor's New School" (9:30 p.m., ET/PT) Kuzco feels left out of the annual "Familympics" because he doesn't have a family to compete with. But after Pacha invtes Kuzco to join their family, Kuzco becomes so intent on winning that he takes all the fun out of the experience. Frustrated, Pacha forces Kuzco to join Kronk's family.

SATURDAY, July 8 on Disney Channel's Playhouse Disney Block
During a game of hide-and-seek, Mickey asks viewers to help find Donald, who is particularly good at hiding. During the search, viewers are encouraged to determine the proper tool to help Mickey's pals locate missing items on a new episode of "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" (9:00 a.m., ET/PT).

SATURDAY, July 8 on Disney Channel
On a new episode of "American Dragon: Jake Long" (9:00 p.m., ET/PT), when Jake learns a new but risky dragon power that allows him to duplicate himself, he decides to put it to use in managing his overwhelming schedule. His duplicate identities have a one track mind, however, and Jake's problems turn dangerous when a rogue duplicate decides it wants to be the one and only Jake.

On "The Emperor's New School" (9:30 p.m., ET/PT) Kuzco becomes suspicious when a new Emperor transfers to the Academy and starts cramping his style. But Kuzco soon discovers the new kid isn't all he claims to be.

FRIDAY, JULY 14 on Disney Channel
Disney Channel presents its premiere of "Big Fat Liar" starring Frankie Muniz and Amanda Bynes. 14-year-old Jason Shepard (Muniz) tells lies just for the fun of it. Months after leaving a homework assignment in a movie producer's limo, he sees movie preview depicting the very same story so, with the help of his best friend Kalyee (Bynes), they go to Los Angeles to confront the producer and make him confess to being a big fat liar himself.

SATURDAY, JULY 15 on Disney Channel
On "American Dragon: Jake Long" (9:00 p.m., ET/PT) Jake's life is thrown into chaos when Grandpa starts dating his principal. Meanwhile, Jake learns a ferocious beast is preying on magical creatures.

On a new episode of "The Emperor's New School" (9:30 p.m., ET/PT) after Yzma gets fed up with Kronk and fires him, Kronk begins to question his place in the world. Kuzco tries to cheer him up and suggests Kronk move in with Pacha's family because they were there for Kuzco when he had nowhere to go. All is well until Kuzco begins to feel left out after Pacha's family showers Kronk with attention.

SUNDAY, JULY 16 on Disney Channel's Playhouse Disney Block
Playhouse Disney introduces its newest short form program, "Ooh, Aah & You" featuring the adorable and funny puppet monkeys Ooh and Aah, two brothers eager to share such monkey games as Monkey See, Monkey Do and Monkey in the Middle. Ooh an Aah don’t always see eye to eye but they love each other and are always ready to laugh and play. "Ooh, Aah & You" will be presented during a marathon of the new hit series "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" with nine episodes airing back-to-back (6:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m., ET/PT).

MONDAY, JULY 17 on Disney Channel
Disney Channel will present a special "High School Musical Get'cha Head in the Game" telecast of the smash hit Disney Channel Original Movie, featuring observations from the young superstar cast about the phenomenon the movie has become, and their experience making it. It is the year's #1 original movie with Kids 6-11 and Tweens 9-14 on basic cable; the soundtrack is the #1 album year-to-date, the DVD is the #1 selling DVD of the year and the junior novel is #1 on the best-seller list.

The movie tells the story of two high school students – Troy, a popular basketball player and Gabriella, a shy, brainy newcomer – who share a secret passion for singing. When these two seemingly polar opposites decide to join forces and go out for the lead roles in the school musical, it wreaks havoc on East High's rigid social order. In a desperate effort to maintain the status quo, the school's various cliques conspire to separate the pair and keep them from performing.

MONDAY, JULY 17 on Disney Channel's Playhouse Disney Block
Playhouse Disney presents a "Princess Day Celebration" with princess-themed episodes of Playhouse Disney series including a new episode of the movement-focused series "JoJo's Circus." When JoJo's royal relatives come to Circustown for the day, JoJo discovers that she greatly resembles her cousin, Princess Josephina. JoJo is excited to learn that Josephina has always wanted to be a clown and lets her cousin try on her clown clothes. In return, Josephina offers up her princess clothes and accessories, much to JoJo's delight. Thrilled with their new roles, the cousins decide to switch identities for the day. But complications arise when JoJo discovers that it is the day of Princess Josephina's coronation ceremony in which she gets crowned princess of "Really Royal Land."

FRIDAY, July 21 on Disney Channel
The new Disney Channel Original Movie "Read It and Weep" starring Kay and Danielle Panabaker, premieres at 8:00 p.m., ET/PT. When Jamie, an average school girl accidentally turns her personal, private journal in as a homework assignment and it ends up on the national bestseller list, she must struggle to find a balance between her old life and her new life.

FRIDAY, JULY 28 on Disney Channel
Disney Channel presents cross-over Friday (7:55 p.m. through 9:30 p.m., ET/PT) during which characters from the hit series "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody" appear on "That's So Raven" and "Hannah Montana" and Raven Baxter of "That's So Raven" appears on "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody."

The cross-over event will kick off with the premiere of a brand new short form series, "Shorty McShorts' Shorts," an imaginative, animated vignette that pays homage to The Walt Disney Company's rich heritage of animation and Walt Disney's personal love of trains.

The animated "Dudley and Nestor Do Nothing," a short created by performance artist and animator Stephan Holman and Josephine Huang ("Phantom Investigators," "Sam Hamwich"), premieres at 7:55 p.m., ET/PT). Dudley and Nestor are best friends who are so uncool that they're cool. Trouble seems to follow them everywhere but their friendship helps them triumph as they literally do nothing and still save the day. The music is by Mark Mothersbaugh, best known as part of the 80s band Devo and for composing "The Royal Tenenbaums."

On a madcap "That's So Raven" cross-over episode (8:00 p.m., ET/PT), Raven steps up to organize an important photo shoot showcasing Donna Cabonna's new fashion line for boys at the Tipton Hotel in Boston. After a mishap, she must substitute the fashion models with Zack and Cody When the reclusive photographer Pistache gets stuck halfway around the world, Raven's got to think quickly to save the photo shoot. Meanwhile Cory and Eddie try to get Chelsea to break the record for the world's longest paddle ball session so they can claim the prize money. They think they have the record in the bag until Stanley proves to be a formidable paddle ball opponent. Anne-Marie Johnson guest stars as Donna Cabonna; Jasmine Guy guest-stars as Pistache; Dylan and Cole Sprouse guest star as Zack and Cody; Bobb'e J. Thompson guest stars as Stanley and Malik Yoba guest-stars as the Judge.

On "The Suite Life" cross-over episode (8:30 p.m., ET/PT) --entitled "That's So Suite Life of Hannah Montana" – Raven Baxter checks into the Tipton Hotel and has a vision that Cody is in danger of being attacked. Cody, now paranoid, avoids anything that remotely resembles Raven's "premonition" - even the surprise birthday party that he and Zack are throwing for Carey. Meanwhile, Maddie is trying to help Raven by getting London to wear one of Raven's original designs, but London swears she'll never wear anything that's not from a real designer. London soon changes her tune when pop star Hannah Montana checks into the Tipton and asks Raven if she can wear one of her designs. Miley Cyrus and Raven-Symone guest star.

On the "Hannah Montana" cross-over episode (9:00 p.m., ET/PT), when Hannah Montana stays at the Tipton Hotel in Boston, she befriends candy counter Maddie who talks about the career Miley's father Robby had back in the day. Now, Miley believes that her dad gave up his dream to sing so that Miley could pursue own her career. To give him back the stage life, she recruits the help of his former manager to get Robby back on the road. Ashley Tisdale of "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody" guest stars. Billy Ray Cyrus performs "I Want My Mullet Back" in this episode.
