The John Walsh Show Cancelled

"The John Walsh Show," a low-rated syndicated chat show featuring the host of "America's Most Wanted," has been canceled after a little over a year on the air. Production will cease next week, but the show will screen through the end of the February sweeps, said syndicator NBC Enterprises. The show's staff was told of the decision at a meeting on the set Tuesday.

Because John Walsh didn't have smut on his show, the American public didn't support him. This is tragic. He has done more to further the cause of missing children than any other single person or organization ever. I think the cancellation of his show is a sad but honest reflection on todays viewing audience. We need more men like him & more shows like his in this culture today.

Cancellation of John Walsh Show

I have watched all the John Walsh Shows since he began them. I think he is a great american. Cancellation of his show and leaving shows on that depict every kind of disgusting information is mind boggling to me. Every time we get someone who is good and puts on a good show, it is cancelled, but I guess that is the American way.

Unhappy John Walsh

I was seeking something to watch rather than that full-of-himself-Dr. Phil promoting another book. His show became an infomercial in my opinion. I just found John Walsh's show and we did enjoy it. The only thing I think that could have hleped him was he needed better segways when he leaped from topic to topic and to get rid of that God awful theme song.

Beyond that, John Walsh has a "real" quality about him and we enjoyed seeing him in another venue.

I am sorry they cancelled you John!

I believe that the theme song was a great one for the show. I also believe that Dr. Phil is all about helping others and not an infomercial. He is about helping others lose weight and make better decisions and if you had actually watched the Dr. Phil show you would see that everyone that has followed his book has lost weight and they feel better about themselves and I believe that he and his wife help many many people. I think it is good for him to promote a book that he feels and knows that will change peoples lives. It is better than him making a book and it not working and being full of BS. I myself was in a marriage that I wanted to work but we just did not get along and I was watching the Dr Phil show with the Family Divided where he told Marty that he wanted him to read the relationship rescue book and to take it to heart, yes Dr Phil wrote the book, but anyhow I went and got the book and it helped my marriage tremendously. I do think that it is a shame that the John Walsh Show was cancelled because I loved that show. The only shows that I did not like that he did was the inventions shows but hey the show was not only for me. I loved the other shows and I am just as stunned as everyone else is to find out that this wonderful show has been cancelled.

NEXT,who will it be? Dr.Phil,Ellen,Wayne Brady?
advertisers,nelson ratings,polls,who calls the shots?
hardly an AMERICAN WAY.

This cancellation is extremely ridiculous...everyone today seems to be all about T&A. What is wrong w/today's society? How could you get rid of someone that was so dedicated to what this society should really be about...And that's safety and children. This is really messed up. And they got rid of this show for Jerry Springer? What is wrong w/that picture? Don't get me wrong Jerry Springer is entertaining, but John Walsh is real not fake and he's about safety, children and advice...he gave me advice; that no one else could. My family and I love you John and I'm all for you and your show...you might not be on the air anymore, but in the year of you being on; you taught America so much. John is definitely an influence to many and he's really what America should be about!

I totally agree. I am so missing John Walsh and his show. The show that has replaced it is a slap in the face to everything he stood for. The celebrity chasing news-type show appeals to individuals whose brains climaxed in development at the teen stage. A sad commentary about the public's tastes via the ratings. I have now switched to TNT and Judging Amy--a show more in line with the attitudes displayed daily on the John Walsh show.

Angry Very Upset and Surprised!

I can not believe this! I went to go watch the John Walsh Show on Monday on KPAX here is Dallas, Texas and I was surprised to see that Bonanza was on instead. I thought maybe it was a one day thing, so I went to search on my menu and looked up JohnW. and nothing showed up. Today I decided to go to JohnWalsh.tv and I was even more surprised to see that it was not even up anymore. I had not heard anything about it going off of the air so I had decided to look up John Walsh Show Cancelled in google and I was surprised to see that the John Walsh Show had been cancelled. There is only 2 talk shows that I watch now and they are Dr. Phil and John Walsh because they are all about advice and the truth in todays society. I am very upset that this has happened, and I believe that if anyone should be taken off of the air it should be Jerry Springer. He is nothing but about humiliating people and about that 3 letter word starting with an s and ending with an x. Here is an idea, take Jerry Springer off and replace him with John Walsh. Can anyone tell me why they took him off of the air if so please post it here so that I know. I know there was a reason but I know that no reason could be a good reason to take such and educating and truthful show off of the air. BRING IT BACK! This is so rediculous that they would do that. Was there any warning? I am just really upset about this and I think that this show was one of the best talk shows of all time.

Unhappy John Walsh Cancelled...

I am sorry to hear that The John Walsh Show has been cancelled.

Talk shows nowadays rely on shocking their audience with nonsensical topics rather than serious ones in order to keep an audience.

I feel sorry for those who think Jerry Springer's barnyard exhibit of a talk show is far more enlightening than John Walsh's show...

John Walsh, the Ghandi/Mother Teresa of the western world

I Equate John Walsh with the likes of Ghandhi and Mother Teresa who have helped a tremendous amount in impoverished areas of the middle east and europe. I think John is a great man, and seems to have a personality of that of an exemplary person like Martin Luther King etc. He seems endlessly optimistic, opiniated, and he seems to carry a "glow" to him. Whenever he's on TV in any place, he seems to glow with positive energy. His work in stopping child abuse and exploitation has done a lot in the past two decades... If not for his work, many children would go missing, abused and killed every year. The John Walsh show isn't the ONLY good tv show, Law and Order SVU is awsome and I loved the SVU special they did on the John walsh show. THe Montel show isn't bad, but I think Dr. Phil is an arrogant person, where is technique is more like a drill sargent than anything else. CSI isn't bad either, and of course, america's most wanted. For the best entertainment and education, it's better to just read .

What is the viewing world coming to when John Walsh...has low ratings and shows like the Apprentice and Average Joe are not only on primetime but also quaranteed for another season. I have totally sworn off the channel that carried John during that hour. They have actually replaced a show that showed real life slices of America and people who have overcome some of the worst advesities imaginable (host included) with a man who fills at least 80% of his shows with lie detector test & paternity test results. What is happening to america? And what is a stay at home mom to watch now??? Oh well I guess I will be online more ...and reading to try and come up with a clue as to where this country is headed. Oh yeah and I will find John and hopefully he will be back soon. No I am no stalker...just a disillusioned mom without a hero. bam..anyone with insights to my dilema or just a comment please do so.
