Emmanuel Lewis: The E! True Hollywood Story, 6/22/03
EMMANUEL LEWIS: THE E! TRUE HOLLYWOOD STORY
PREMIERES ON SUNDAY, JUNE 22 AT 9:00 PM ET/PT
Emmanuel Lewis -- "People Thought I Was The Doll Come
To Life. So I Would Have Different People Just
Treating Me Very Strangely As Far As I Was Concerned
Because They Wanted To Just Touch Me To See If I Was
Real."
Los Angeles, June 18, 2003 - In the `80s, child star
Emmanuel Lewis charmed America as TV’s cuddly orphan
“Webster.” The sitcom turned the pint-sized actor into
a television giant. Lewis performed for a U.S.
President, danced with Sammy Davis Jr. and his best
friend just happened to be the “King of Pop.” Behind
the scenes, however, life on the sitcom set with
Lewis’ co-stars was not as harmonious. In 1989, Lewis
said farewell to his hit television series and goodbye
to Hollywood. Lewis recognized his small stature
prevented him from playing more adult roles and he
spent most of the next decade out of the public
spotlight, trying to decide whether his future
included television. In this one-hour episode, Lewis
sits down to expose his unique tale as an adored child
to an obscure adult and express his eagerness for a
comeback. Interviews for this episode include Emmanuel
Lewis, along with his friends, family, and Webster
producer Stu Silver. Emmanuel Lewis: The E! True
Hollywood Story premieres Sunday, June 22 at 9:00 PM ET/PT.
